The scope of work consists of the design, engineering, construction, testing, commissioning and completion of a 40,000 seat two tiers FIFA-compliant stadium with a designated VVIP/VIP/Hospitality level. This includes masterplan works, community market and retail, energy centre, infrastructure, landscaping, utilities and road works within the site, in addition to all MEP works.
Challenges
Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah City is a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ stadium and the venue for the tournament’s quarter-finals. The unprecedented scale of the event and its significance both for Qatar and the region cannot be understated.
With an international event of this magnitude come stringent standards and requirements from the SC and FIFA, in line with global design and sustainability standards set out by the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
